Terms of service
Plain version: Skinframe is a self-tracking tool, not a medical device. Use it as a notebook for your skin, not as your dermatologist. We provide it as-is, without warranties. We can't be liable for medical decisions you make based on it.
1. Who we are
Skinframe is operated by an independent developer ("we," "us"). The Skinframe iOS application and the website at skinframe.app are collectively the "Service."
2. Not medical advice
Skinframe is not a medical device. It is not cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or any other regulatory body. Nothing in the Service is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The pattern correlations Skinframe surfaces are statistical observations from your own logs, they are not clinical findings. Always consult a licensed dermatologist before starting, stopping, or changing any treatment, including over-the-counter products.
3. Your responsibility
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you log. You are responsible for protecting your device and your iCloud account. You are responsible for the medical decisions you make. The Service is a tool to help you observe; the conclusions you draw and the actions you take are yours.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use Skinframe to track other people without their informed consent. Don't reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source from the app beyond what applicable law permits. Don't represent Skinframe-generated reports as something they aren't (e.g. as a diagnosis or as a clinically validated assessment).
5. The dermatologist report
Reports generated by Skinframe are intended as a personal record to share with your healthcare provider. They are not a clinical diagnostic instrument. The verification code confirms file integrity only, it does not vouch for the clinical meaning of the contents.
6. Pricing, trial, and refunds
Skinframe is free to install and use for fourteen days from first launch. After the trial, continued use of capture, import, lag-aware correlation, and the dermatologist PDF requires a Skinframe Pro purchase, sold through the App Store as either a one-time $29.99 lifetime unlock or a $4.99/month auto-renewing subscription with identical features. Read-only access to your existing timeline, photos, severity history, and CSV self-export remain available without any purchase.
Subscriptions auto-renew until canceled. You can cancel at any time in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not raise auto-renew rates after purchase, do not lock features behind a higher tier, and do not send post-cancel reactivation emails. Refunds are handled by Apple under their standard refund policy at reportaproblem.apple.com; we do not process payments directly.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any insight is medically meaningful.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app. We may discontinue, suspend, or modify the Service at any time, with reasonable notice for material changes that affect existing users.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in the app before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
